Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

ESI/Long (Education and Training Services)  ESI has printed a bullish morning star signal that closed right at the 50-day simple moving average.  For about 3-1/2 months, it’s been cruising sideways after its October bullish pop.  From yesterday’s candlestick pattern, we are looking for a 20% plus move.

Entry, Stop & Profits for ESI will be discussed at 9:10 Eastern in the Trading Room Click Here to Join

Yesterday’s featured trade idea and members list:  (LPI) produced 16.55% yesterday. We also closed LINE, MCEP and SN for 16.44%, 17.66% and 34.6%.  For almost two weeks we’ve been waiting to pounce on these oils.

Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

LPI/Long (Energy) LPI closing over the 50-period moving average yesterday made it a Rounded Bottom Breakout. Yesterday, LPI saw confirmation closing over the 50-period moving average after a Doji /Bullish Engulf.  This candlestick pattern suggests buyers are very interested.  Note the void in late November.

Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

UVXY/Long (Ultra Vix Short Term Futures ETF) UVXY was first posted on our members watch-list on January 16 as a chart to watch and trade accordingly to the market, it started hinting a PBO buy on January 23 and has had a 34% run.  The continuation pattern of the last three days last week and the close over the 200 day simple moving average suggest there is still bullish interest.

Possible entry plan idea:  Buy on a buy-signal

Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

FLEX/Long (Technology) FLEX has found support on the 200-period moving average twice this month creating a double bottom.  The bull kicker yesterday gapped over the big three and closed near the recent high.  Over $12, FLEX  could work its way to $20.

Possible entry plan idea:  Above the 50-day simple moving average
Possible stop plan idea:    A close below the 50-day simple moving average

Covered YHOO short yesterday +12.17%
Up 17% on LOCO, plan to protect profits

Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

BSFT/Short (Technology)  On January 15, BSFT printed a bearish engulf that also engulfed the big three.  For the past week, price has just move sideways at the lower end of the trading range and yesterday printed another bearish engulf.  A break below $27.10 would set BSFT in motion to possibly retest the 200-period moving average.

Possible entry plan idea:  Weakness below $27.10
Possible stop plan idea:    A close above $27.30

Yesterday’s short on Yahoo worked out very well in the trading room and looks as if the selling may continue. Yesterday was a rough day, and most everybody had to reevaluate their trading account, maybe even close a few losing trades.  I did.  As you know, stock trading is risky, and there are some days that the bears win; please don’t let anyone tell you or convince you of anything different.  The score should be kept over a week or a month, not for one day.  We try to teach and educate in the trading room and do not advocate following anyone into a trade.

Good Morning,

SPY:  It’s pretty obvious that I really don’t have to tell you how rough yesterday was if you are 100% bullish.  If you are able to shift gears and start catching a Continue Reading

FNSR/Long (Communication Equipment) FNSR After the bullish Harami and rallying from the 50 period moving average to the 200 period moving average FNSR pulled back with a to bar low and closed with a bullish piercing candle with bullish follow through clearing the 19.95 area 810 to 25% swing move is possible

Possible entry plan idea:  Positive trading over 19.95 or my personal favorite just simply on an inside day
Possible stop plan idea:    For now a close below the T-Line
Good Morning,

SPY:  With yesterday’s gap down Doji closing in the middle of our symmetrical wedge we will need to rely on the close of the day.  Will today’s close be bullish Continue Reading

Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

EXK/Long (Silver) EXK has had a 62% run since late December and about a 30% swing from its last pullback.  EXK printed a bullish piercing candle yesterday, opening below the T-Line and closing above the T-Line.  This is what we call a PBO (pullback opportunity).  EXK is also a set up in one of my favorite chart strategies called the Rounded Bottom Breakout with 20 to 40% possible profit ahead of it.

Possible entry plan idea:  Positive trading over the T-Line
Possible stop plan idea:    Yesterday’s low, $2.66

Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

ATEN/Long (Technology) ATEN is no stranger to our trading room, a few weeks ago many from the room profited from this chart.  On January 15 ATEN posted a low followed by an inside day (bullish Harami), followed by a high then a higher low.  Friday printed and 8.27% candle and the chart appears to be on its way to a J-Hook breakout.  I will be watching for 20% move or about the $6.50 area as the first target then price may climb through the window.

Possible entry plan idea:  Inside day Below 5.37 or on a slight breakout

Possible stop plan idea:   A close below The T-Line
Good Morning,

SPY:  After a solid close above the 50-period moving average last Thursday, an inside day (Harami) was printed Friday still closing above the 50-day simple Continue Reading

Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

MCEP/Long (Energy Sector )  SX90/XLE led the way yesterday both with a hammer on January 14 and the follow-through has led them above the T-Line ready to cross the 20-period moving average.  MCEP formed a bullish piercing candle on December 17 followed by consolidation and a bullish scoop pattern.  Gapping yesterday and closing above both the T-Line and the 20-period moving average leads me to believe the next short-term swing target could be around $7.40 which is a 30% trade and another 30% on bullish follow-through to the 50- period moving average.

Possible entry plan idea:  Inside day or breakout of yesterday’s candle
Possible stop plan idea:   A close below $5.59

Good Morning,

Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

TASR/Long (Aerospace and Defense) I could really kick myself for not buying TASR yesterday as it started moving up through the 20-period moving average.  We talked about it in the trading room and several of our members did take advantage of it.  Yesterday’s close produced a bullish morning star signal after a run from late October with a slight profit taking pull back starting in late December.

Possible entry plan idea:  Inside day or breakout of yesterday’s candle
Possible stop plan idea:   Below $29.50

Good Morning,

SPY:  Yesterday’s close at $202.05 put us back in the symmetrical wedge that we had drawn a week and a half ago.  Any trading within that wedge is simply Continue Reading
