Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

LPI/Long (Energy) LPI closing over the 50-period moving average yesterday made it a Rounded Bottom Breakout. Yesterday, LPI saw confirmation closing over the 50-period moving average after a Doji /Bullish Engulf.  This candlestick pattern suggests buyers are very interested.  Note the void in late November.

Yesterday’s featured trade idea and members list – (UVXY) produced 10% before turning back down; SN gapped and closed for 12%; SD gapped and closed for 9.9%; OIL, LINE, and CLR closed very well with nice-looking chart setups.

Good Morning,

SPY: Once again the SPY has found support with the December low of $197.86 while closing at $201.92, right at the T-Line.  Yesterday’s close put us back in our originalsymmetrical triangle which suggests the buyers and sellers are back at the table to vote on the future direction.  Out of 11 morning star sectors, real estate was the only one to close red yesterday below its previous day’s close, and there was no real surprise that energy was the leader.

IWM: IWM found the 200-period moving average yesterday, bounced and closed up with a hammer candle which suggests the buyers may be trying to hammer out a bottom.  A hammer candle requires confirmation; therefore, today’s close is needed for that confirmation.

VT:  The ETF VT chart is an excellent chart to watch for the global view.  VT managed to close positive over the 20-day simple moving average and the T-Line. Unfortunately, it’s overhead resistance is a bit tough — the 50- and 200-period moving average as well as a bearish downtrend line.  A close over the 200-period moving average would suggest globally the Bulls are back in town.
