TZA/Long (Small-cap bear inverse ETF) TZA – After a bullish T-Line run, TZA broke out of a bullish “W” pattern, and after seeing a little profit taking this week, price pulled back below the T-Line into the 50-day simple moving average. Yesterday the buyers came in with a Bullish Engulf bouncing off the 50-day simple moving average and closing above the T-Line. Side note: I bought TZA yesterday at $45.20 and announced to all the members In the Trading Room.

SPY: The SPY ran into trouble yesterday at $204.48 closing down 1.52% creating a bearish engulf that completely negated Wednesday’s bullish Fed candle, closing below the T-Line™. Also closing back below the 50% mark of the high and low on the bearish “M” pattern suggests that the bears were not finished, and has the sellers pushing price back below the 34 EMA and the 200 SMA. Unless there’s a bullish change today, the sellers will push the T-Line back below the 34 EMA. This will cause me to be extremely bearish.

SPY: Today’s the big Fed day!
The SPY gapped yesterday and managed to crawl to the 50-day simple moving average only to slip backwards closing underneath the T-Line™. Overall, yesterday was a go nowhere day. Visually, you can still see the bearish “M” pattern, but we all know that today could be a game changer and the market could run up or down.
- My plan for the last couple of weeks has been to slowly move into cash, and I’m nearly there.
- Today I will not buy the first two knee-jerk reactions.
- I will stay focused on trends, support/resistance, candle and chart patterns.

Friday – a great day to take PROFITS!
I will be covering 14 possible trades (long & short) for members in the trading room this morning starting at 9:10 Eastern.
SPY: The bearish “M” pattern, a pattern to recognize. Over the past few weeks here at Hit & Run Candlesticks we have talked about the bearish “M” pattern and has offered caution many times in the trading room. This pattern is BEARISH and not a pattern to fool with.
It is been posted several times that the November 16 low is more than likely to be tested and if you are trading long you would need to take special precautions.
The weakness continues in the SPY with yesterday failing the T-Line™ strengthening the bearish “M” pattern. The current price action is still suggesting that we test the November 16 low or about $202.00. with a failure of the $202.00 area, $195.30 could be where we find price if the market is unhappy with the FED decissions. The T-Line™ continues to act as a downward trend line for the short-term swing traders, the T-Line™ is also likely to push through the 34 EMA today, that would suggest more weakness for the Bulls.

ADPT/Short(Healthcare) ADPT – Continues to show weakness, now setting up for a bearish “h” pattern for a possible test of the recent low and a push lower. A failed attempt of the 34 EMA resulted in a shooting star-type candle with a long upper wick. The recent close below the T-Line™ is a clue for the short-term swing trader to climb aboard.

AFMD/Long (Healthcare biotechnology) AFMD has successfully constructed a rounded bottom breakout with a PBO. Two-1/2 months of constructing a bottom price has rallied up through the big three and has set itself up for a rally toward the 200-day simple moving average.
