SPY: With price closing below the T-Line™ and the 34-exponential moving average yesterday, the right leg of the bearish “M” pattern continues to suggest that the November 16 lows may be tested. If the November lows are tested and breached, that would paint a full bearish “M” picture.
I would suspect that the world will be looking at economic news coming out of the US the rest of this week and all of next week, and this news can be a game changer. We will continue to trade both long and short. Currently, our bias is more on the short side, but with the trading room and all the great traders, we are able to find excellent long trades to play.
IWM: Yesterday’s gap down on IWM took us below the supporting trendline, and the closure below the T-Line™ suggests another day or two of bearish pressure.
SMH: Gapping below the T-Line yesterday and follow-through off the bearish engulf weakens SMH. For the most part, SMH is still holding strong. Today could be an important day.
IYT: While IYT continues to feel the pain of a bear, I think it will likely see a bit more before we see reversing Candlesticks.
S&P VIX Short-Term Futures VXX: VXX seems poised to test the 200-day simple moving average and the November high, and a breakout of the November high would create a bullish “W” pattern.
