Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

NUGT / Long (Gold Miners Bull ETF)   NUGT became a Rounded Bottom Breakout on January 7 and continues to consolidate above the 50-period moving average.  You can see all eight of the Rounded Bottom Breakout setup rules found in the e-book.  Also, a bullish double bottom and a Doji Bullish Engulf secured the 20- period moving average.

My entry plan idea:  Below $15.59 would be nice, but I’d also take an entry below $16.86.
My stop plan idea:   I’m going to use a 5% stop or a bearish candlestick on the close

Good Morning,

SPY:  The bearish pattern that I have mentioned over the past week or two is still hanging over the market.  Last week we had a nice little reliefrally off of the January lows that closed us back over the big three.  Friday it appeared the bulls had a little trouble with the follow-through and ended up allowing the bears to step in and paint a bearish dark cloud cover that closed back below the big three.  With Friday’s bearish dark cloud cover, we still need to see sellers’ follow-through to complete this signal.  Although not 100% bearish, I will be very cautious on how I proceed today.  The bulls need $206.39 in the SPY and the bears want Friday’s low of $204.25.

IWM:   IWM printed a bearish engulf on Friday that sliced through the 20-day simple moving average but closed above the 50-day simple moving average.  There could be some bears out there looking to close price below the 50, so be forewarned.  Friday’s bearish engulf could also be setting us up for a lower high which could be the start of a bearish channel.
