Today’s Swing Trade Ideas

REN / Long (Energy sector)  REN is a pinball setup with about 39% to the pinball target.  REN is a 1-2-3 chart with a confirmed bullish morning star that has now closed back above the T-Line and the 20-day simple moving average.  The chart is still in a confirmed downtrend; therefore, we are only looking for a relief rally.

My entry plan idea:  Inside day with a close over the 20-day period moving average would be nice.
My stop plan idea:   A close back below the T-Line.

Trade management is so very important.

SPY:   Prices closed back down through the T-Line which means the bullish swing trader has lost control until a bullish reversal signal and
pattern are created or a close back up through the T-Line.  At the time of this writing, the futures are looking a bit bullish, but it’s the end of the day close that counts.  From a little longer point of view, the Bulls are still in control and for now the last two candles are due to into-the-year trading and profit taking.  I expect today’s trading to be much like the past couple of weeks — slow and overall low volume.  Next week could be a different story.

IWM:   IWM also closed below the T-Line putting the short-term sellers in control. By the end of the day, the buyers need to see a bullish reversal candlestick or a close back over the T-Line.  If price continues below the T-Line, the 20-day period moving average is a likely target direction.
