We hit the macroeconomic jackpot today: traders get the ADP Employment Report, the GDP print, International Trade in Goods, Personal Income & Outlays, and the EIA Petroleum Status Report all hitting the tape. Don’t you just feel special?

Index & Sector Breakdown
- SPY (S&P 500 ETF): Remains carved out in a bull flag pullback, still clinging above the 50-day moving average. However, price action is flirting uncomfortably between the 50 SMA and the Trendicator—getting a bit too close to breaking below that 50 for comfort.
- RSP (S&P 500 Equal Weight): Bouncing off our modified 200 SMA. A confirmed push above the 8 EMA (T-Line) would signal the broader market bulls aren’t completely down and out just yet.
- QQQ (Invesco QQQ Trust): Tech continues to lead this market. The Qs are working through a textbook bullish flag pullback, still respecting the bullish 3/8 trap above our Trendicator.
- QQQE (Nasdaq 100 Equal Weight): Consolidating after an aggressive run-up, currently negotiating support right at the 50 SMA.
- The Magnificent Seven: The mega-caps remain locked in a healthy uptrend, flagging constructively and holding firm above the Trendicator.
- SMH (Semiconductor ETF): Relative strength powerhouse. The chart is setting up what looks like a classic bullish “pop out of the box.”
- IYT (Dow Jones Transportation ETF): Beaten down in an extended downtrend, but deeply oversold. Pre-market price action is attempting to reclaim the T-Line. Watch closely: could this be the inflection area for a relief turn in transports?

Before putting on risk today, run through the pre-flight mental checklist:
- Is this the tape I actually want to trade today?
- Does the current market backdrop have my best interests at heart right now?
Look at internal market breadth: the T2108 (percentage of NYSE stocks trading above their 40-day moving average) is sitting near 18%. That is nowhere near a confirmed bull trend, but it is an extreme oversold reading.
Traders are running low on patience, but extreme compression can lead to explosive reversals. Stay disciplined, manage your risk, and wait for the oversold bounce to trigger the setups you’ve been looking for.
